SourceLingo (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the confidentiality of all information shared with us by clients, partners, and users. This policy outlines how we handle, protect, and limit the use of confidential information in the course of providing our services.

2. Definition of Confidential Information

“Confidential Information” includes, but is not limited to:
• Personal data and identifying information
• Financial information
• Business operations, strategies, or plans
• Intellectual property and proprietary materials
• Communications (written, verbal, or electronic)
• Any non-public information disclosed in connection with our services

3. Use of Confidential Information

Confidential Information will be:
• Used solely for the purpose of delivering agreed-upon services
• Accessed only by authorized personnel with a legitimate business need

We do not use client information for any purpose outside the scope of service delivery without explicit consent.

4. Exclusions from Confidential Information

• Is independently developed without use of confidential data

6. Interpreters, Employees, and Contractors

All interpreters, employees, contractors, and third-party providers:
• Are bound by confidentiality obligations
• Are required to sign confidentiality agreements
• Must adhere to strict non-disclosure standards

Interpreters are specifically required to:
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all interpreted content
• Not record, store, or reuse session content unless explicitly authorized
• Conduct themselves in accordance with professional industry standards, including confidentiality expectations applicable to sensitive environments (e.g., legal, medical, or social services)

7. Disclosure Required by Law

We may disclose Confidential Information if required by law, regulation, or legal process. Where permitted, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the affected party prior to disclosure.

8. Data Retention and Disposal

We retain Confidential Information only for as long as necessary to:
• Fulfill service obligations
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

When no longer required, information is securely deleted or destroyed.

9. Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach involving Confidential Information, we will:
• Take immediate steps to contain and mitigate the issue
• Notify affected parties as required by applicable law
• Investigate and implement corrective measures

10. Limitation of Liability

While we implement reasonable safeguards, SourceLingo does not guarantee absolute security. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from unauthorized access to Confidential Information.

11. Governing Law

This policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
